Frequently Asked Questions About Dive Destinations
What is the best time to dive in the Red Sea?
The Red Sea offers year-round diving with water temperatures between 21-30°C. The best conditions are typically from March to May and September to November. Summer months (June-August) can be hot but offer excellent visibility, while winter (December-February) brings cooler temperatures but is ideal for hammerhead sightings at the Brothers Islands.
When is the best time to see hammerheads and Mola Mola in the Galapagos?
Whale shark season in the Galápagos runs from June to November, with peak sightings at Darwin and Wolf Islands between August and October. These magnificent creatures can reach up to 12 meters and are attracted by the nutrient-rich cold currents during this period.
What marine life can I see in the Maldives?
The Maldives is renowned for its incredible manta ray encounters, particularly at cleaning stations in Ari Atoll and Baa Atoll. You can also expect whale sharks (especially at South Ari Atoll), reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, and an abundance of colorful reef fish. Night dives often reveal nurse sharks and hunting moray eels.
Why is Raja Ampat considered the best diving destination?
Raja Ampat sits at the heart of the Coral Triangle and boasts the highest marine biodiversity on Earth. With over 1,500 fish species and 550 coral species, it offers unparalleled diving experiences. The region’s isolation has preserved its pristine reefs, making it a bucket-list destination for serious divers seeking extraordinary underwater encounters.
What diving experience do I need for Komodo?
Komodo diving suits intermediate to advanced divers due to strong currents at many sites. However, our expert dive guides select sites based on conditions, and there are sheltered areas suitable for less experienced divers. We recommend at least 50 logged dives and experience with drift diving for the best Komodo experience.

What is the typical daily schedule on a liveaboard?
A typical day includes an early morning dive (around 6-7am), breakfast, a mid-morning dive, lunch, an afternoon dive, and often a sunset or night dive. Between dives, you can relax on the sundeck, chill out in the lounge area, take a nap in your cabin, and enjoy meals and

What safety equipment is onboard?
Can non-divers join a liveaboard trip?
Some liveaboards welcome non-diving companions, particularly in destinations like Thailand and the Philippines where snorkelling is actually suitable.
