Surrounding the Southern Visayas is the Visayan sea, rich in nutrients and plankton that supports a variety of important ecosystems. There are several areas of protected mangroves and much of the region is protected by marine sanctuaries. Fishing is still a staple means of income for many Filipinos, however, marine sanctuaries such as those enforced at Apo Island have spurred islanders to protect their marine habitats.

What does the 7 night Southern Visayas itinerary cover? ▼
We visit and dive the islands of Cabilao and Balicasag, along with Apo Island marine sanctuary and the macro hot spot of Dauin. Topography varies from shallow sandy fringing reefs to steep walls with sea fans and sponges, plus a couple of small plane wrecks and cars at Dauin that have formed artificial reefs.
Can we add diving with whale sharks at Oslob? ▼
Yes. Diving with whale sharks at Oslob is offered as an optional extra on this itinerary, subject to an additional charge.
What certification do I need? ▼
PADI Open Water or equivalent with a minimum of 25 logged dives. A scanned copy of your certification must be sent to us once you book, so the authorities will issue the Balicasag Island permit.
How do I get to the embarkation port? ▼
We include a transfer between the airport (or local hotel) and the vessel on embarkation and disembarkation days.
Are park and marine fees included? ▼
No. The marine park and port fee for this 7 night itinerary is 115 USD per person (subject to change), plus a fuel surcharge of 120 USD per person. Both are obligatory surcharges paid on board before disembarkation.
