About This Itinerary

Surrounding the Southern Visayas is the Visayan sea, rich in nutrients and plankton, that supports a variety of important ecosystems. There are several areas of protected mangroves and much of the region is protected by marine sanctuaries. Fishing is still a staple means of income for many Filipinos, however, marine sanctuaries such as those enforced at Apo Island have spurred islanders to protect their marine habitats.

Common Questions

What does the 6 night Southern Visayas itinerary cover?
We dive sites around the islands of Cebu, Cabilao, Balicasag and Pescador, along with Apo Island marine sanctuary and the critter hot spot of Dauin. The topography ranges from shallow sandy fringing reefs to steep walls dotted with sea fans and sponges, with a couple of small plane wrecks and cars forming artificial reefs.
What marine life will we see?
Common sightings include green and hawksbill turtles and schools of barracuda and jacks, with large numbers of redtooth trigger fish, pyramid butterfly fish and blue lined fusiliers on almost every dive. Smaller creatures include frogfish, ghost pipefish, octopus, pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, shrimps and crabs.
What certification do I need?
PADI Open Water or equivalent with a minimum of 25 logged dives. A scanned copy of your certification must be sent to us once you book, so the authorities will issue the Balicasag Island permit.
How do I get to the embarkation port?
We include a transfer between Cebu Airport (or your local hotel) and the Cebu embarkation / disembarkation point on those days.
Are park and marine fees included?
No. Marine Park and port fees are an obligatory surcharge paid on board. The 6 night Visayas surcharge is currently 85 USD per person, plus a fuel surcharge.
