About This Itinerary
The Visayas, Southern Leyte & Malapascua region is especially rich in vital nutrients and plankton that support a variety of critical ecosystems. There are several protected mangrove areas, and marine sanctuaries protect much of the region. Underwater, the topography of dive sites varies wildly, from shallow sandy reefs to vertical rock walls dotted with seafans and sponges.

The 40 metre Philippine Siren liveaboard was built on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Handcrafted from ironwood and teak (traditional to the area), you will find no other diving liveaboard as beautiful in waters of the Philippines.

What does this itinerary cover? ▼
Over 11 days aboard Philippine Siren we visit and dive around Limasawa Island and Sogod Bay, plus Cabilao, Balicasag, Bohol and Malapascua, exploring some of the very best diving in the eastern Philippines.
Can we see whale sharks? ▼
Whale sharks frequent the area around Southern Leyte. Sightings are not guaranteed, but the area is one of the more reliable spots covered by our Philippines itineraries.
What about thresher sharks? ▼
Thresher sharks come in to feed on schools of sardines at various locations covered by this itinerary, most notably around Malapascua.
What certification do I need? ▼
PADI Open Water or equivalent with a minimum of 25 logged dives.
Are marine fees included? ▼
No. Marine Park and port fees are an obligatory surcharge paid on board. The 10 night Visayas, Leyte and Malapascua surcharge is currently 175 USD per person, plus a fuel surcharge.
