What Divers Say

★★★★★

"David Buckland - so helpful at every stage"

★★★★★

"Our expedition was not normal for the captain and crew. They accepted our creative schedule with great understanding and practical help. They also shared their deep knowledge of oceans and marine activity and were honestly curious about the endeavours of the onboard artists. They and all your crew were so helpful at every stage - making us aware of safety at the same time as trying to making the difficult possible. Please extend our thanks to all and for helping with the charter."

★★★★★

"What a phenomenal team on the Pacific Master led by Captain Hugo.... Going out to one of the most remote dive destinations, Bikini Atoll, the Taka, Pacific master always felt safe. I look forward to seeing you again soon and the bragging rights of such an epic trip, LOL. I will exaggerate my adventure many times over."

Common Questions

What certification do I need?
Recreational divers need PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50 logged dives, and preferably the Deep Diver Speciality (40 metres). The deeper wrecks are accessible only to suitably qualified technical divers. Nitrox certification is highly recommended.
Are the wrecks safe to penetrate?
Each day's diving is planned so both technical and recreational divers can explore the wrecks at their own level. Most wreck dives go straight from the main vessel onto the wreck. Torches are mandatory for anyone wishing to penetrate any of the wrecks, and no torches are available to rent on board, so please bring your own.
How deep are the wrecks?
The majority of wrecks lie within recreational, no-decompression limits at depths between 18 and 40 metres, with average dive depths between 25 and 35 metres. Other wrecks sit at 40-64 metres and are only accessible to suitably qualified technical divers.
What thickness wetsuit is suitable?
Water temperatures in Truk Lagoon generally range between 28 and 30C. A 3mm or 5mm full-length suit is suitable. A 3mm suit is appropriate for those who do not feel the cold or who do not intend to dive deep (30 metres plus); a 5mm suit helps wreck divers reduce the risk of injury and gives more thermal cover for longer dive times.
