Cookie Policy

Master Liveaboards use cookies and similar tools on our website to improve and monitor performance, as well as to enhance your experience. This policy explains how we do that.

1. What are cookies?

A ‘cookie’ is a small text file that a website may put on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a site or page. This could be a single cookie, or multiple cookies depending on requirements and uses. These cookies will help the website, or another website, to recognise your device the next time you visit. There are alternative names and files such as ‘session tokens’ or ‘beacons’, however, we will use the term cookies to refer to all files that collect information as described above.

There are many functions cookies serve. For example, they can help to remember usernames and preferences, analyse website performance, to allow us to recommend content we believe will be most relevant to you; to name but a few.

Certain cookies can contain personal information. For example, if you click ‘remember me’ when logging in to a website, a cookie will store your username.

Most cookies don’t collect information that identifies you, and instead collect more general information. This might include how you arrive at and use our websites, or your general location.

2. What kind of cookies do Master Liveaboards use?

Generally, our cookies perform up to four different functions:

2.1. Essential cookies

Some cookies are essential for the operation of our website. These will include cookies that provide security when using our website to complete personal data about a cruise you are joining and those that help ensure that your page loads quickly by distributing workload.

2.2. Performance Cookies

We may utilise cookies to analyse how our visitors use our websites and to monitor website performance. This allows us to provide a high quality experience by customising our offerings and quickly identifying and fixing any issues that arise.

For example, we might use performance cookies to keep track of which pages are most popular or to see how users navigate between pages. This allows us to constantly improve our service.

2.3. Functionality Cookies

We use functionality cookies to allow us to remember your preferences. A good example of this would be the ‘remember me’ cookie mentioned previously. We also use functionality cookies to provide you with enhanced services such as allowing you to comment on our blogs or to send us contact requests.

2.4. Third Party Cookies

We also use or allow third parties to serve cookies that fall into the three categories above. For example, as with most companies with effective webs services, we use Google Analytics to help us monitor our website traffic.

3. What if I don’t want any cookies?

As explained above, cookies help you to get the most out of our websites. However, if you do wish to disable our cookies then you can do so directly from your own browser and you will find an explanation on how to do that here:

http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/

Be aware that if you do decide to disable cookies, you may find that certain sections of our website, and indeed other websites you use, may not work properly.

4. Do you track if I open my newsletters?

We use an outside supplier, called Freshworks, to deliver and monitor our newsletter emails. Each mail may contain a single, campaign-unique ‘web beacon pixel’ to tell us whether our newsletters are opened and to verify any clicks through to our websites within the newsletter.

We use this information for purposes including determining which of our emails are more interesting to readers and to query whether users who do not open our emails wish to continue receiving them. The ‘beacon’ will be deleted when you delete the email. If you do not wish the beacon to be downloaded to your device with the newsletter then you should select to receive emails from us in plain text rather than HTML.

5. Where can I find more information?

You can find much more detail on how various businesses use cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org.
