Common Questions

What makes Palau Islands diving special?
Palau's entire waters are designated as a shark sanctuary, so reef sharks and manta rays are seen in abundance. Iconic sites such as Blue Corner, dramatic walls, vibrant coral gardens, and fast-flowing channels that attract pelagics and vast schools of fish are all part of the route.
How many dives are included and where do we go?
The 7 night Palau Islands itinerary allows up to 22 dives. Departing from Malakal Harbour, we head into the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) before heading down to Peleliu, with a typical day offering up to 4 dives.
Why are reef hooks essential?
Many of the channels in Palau have strong currents and reef hooks are an essential piece of diving equipment. Reef hooks and SMBs are not available to rent on board, so guests are advised to bring their own or buy them on board.
What certification do I need?
PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent, with a minimum of 30 logged dives (mandatory). You must have experience and be comfortable in strong currents.
Are state taxes and dive fees included?
No. Palau Islands State Permits and Taxes are 230 USD per person for the 7 night itinerary, plus a 10% Palau Goods and Services Tax on relevant on-board payments and a fuel surcharge.
