Bruce F.
★★★★★

"A great trip through a rarely visited country. Varied diving - reefs, walls, and wrecks. A constant change of scenery as you wind your way through the islands."

Dean G.
★★★★★

"Saw a whale shark! Beautiful dive sites with lots of colourful fish and coral. Lots of diving available. Very fishy with large schools. Boat was large and well appointed. Safety was a priority."

Common Questions

What certification do I need?
Some sites are not suitable for entry-level or inexperienced divers due to depths and currents. For most itineraries, Advanced Open Water certification is recommended with a mandatory minimum of 40 logged dives. For Wreck Week itineraries, Advanced Open Water is mandatory with a minimum of 75 logged dives.
How do I get there?
Most Solomons itineraries start and end in Honiara (HIR), served from Brisbane, Fiji and Port Moresby. From Europe the easiest route is via Brisbane; from the US, via Fiji or Brisbane. Itineraries that start or end in Munda (MUA) connect via daily Solomon Airlines flights from Honiara. Mobile phone coverage is limited once underway.
What is the diving like?
A mix of pinnacles and drop-offs, caverns and swim-throughs, unspoilt reefs and a variety of wrecks. Most reefs start close to the surface and drop off gradually, with many wall dives close to the reef and good multi-level profiles. Some sites have strong currents with pelagic action. Average visibility is 25 to 40 metres, although nutrient-rich waters and dense fish life can reduce it.
Is malaria a risk?
The Solomon Islands are in a malaria zone. We recommend consulting your travel doctor about prophylaxis before the trip. Mosquito repellent and long sleeves recommended for evenings.
