Bikini Atoll, in the remote Republic of the Marshall Islands in Micronesia, is probably the most famous place in the world for wreck diving. Not long after the second world war, the US gathered a mock fleet of naval vessels in order to test the different effects of atomic bombs on warships. 67 nuclear bombs were tested between 1946 and 1958, most notably during ''Operation Crossroads''. Visit the (in)famous lagoon and its wrecks on this Bikini Atoll 13 nights liveaboard diving itinerary aboard Truk Master and Pacific Master.

Maps & Itinerary

More than 75 years after Operation Crossroads began, the nuclear ghost fleet of Bikini Atoll (as these wrecks are known) rest in crystal blue waters that have since become home to an abundance of marine life with thriving reefs. Only since 1996 has Bikini Atoll been open to diving, making this destination a one-of-a-kind combination of spectacular historic wrecks in a remote and otherwise untouched tropical paradise. Nowhere else can you dive such a fantastic collection of wrecks, including battleships, submarines, destroyers, and most notably the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga

As the wrecks of Bikini Atoll are only suited for extended range diving, there will be 2 technical dives offered per day. Divers will be responsible for planning their own dives, with the assistance of the Cruise Director who has dived the wrecks of Bikini many times already.

For safety, the minimum surface interval between dives is 4 hours and, it is mandatory to take an afternoon off from diving mid-trip; an optional land tour of Bikini Island and beach BBQ will be offered instead of diving.

Travel time between Ebeye Island and Bikini Atoll is 23-34 hours depending on conditions. On some trips, it may be possible to dive the Prinz Eugen wreck near Kwajalein, or the Airplane Graveyard before sailing overnight to Bikini Atoll.

All your staff that worked on this boat made my stay so enjoyable. Your dive deck goes beyond taking care of myself and other divers. I was spoilt with my room being cleaned daily and all my meals coming from Chef was brilliant. I loved that the crew would come and chat with me on a daily basis, I felt so cared for by you all. Thank you to Adam and James for the insight and knowledge on each of the wrecks, and our movie night's which added another group bonding moment. Much love to you all

Our expedition was not normal for the captain and crew. They accepted our creative schedule with great understanding and practical help. They also shared their deep knowledge of oceans and marine activity and were honestly curious about the endeavours of the onboard artists. They and all your crew were so helpful at every stage - making us aware of safety at the same time as trying to making the difficult possible. Please extend our thanks to all and for helping with the charter.

The entire crew was amazing and very attentive. They were always trying to help however they could.
