Crystal clear water
Dive breath-taking drop-offs
Abundant marine life
Stunning reef systems
Blue Corner consistently ranks among the best dive sites in the world and so is known by divers far and wide. But this is just your gateway to diving in Palau. Fundamentally a huge shallow turquoise lagoon surrounded by huge drop offs into the Pacific Ocean, Palau has a plethora of world class sites. Ocean currents feeding into the shallow waters mean corals and schooling fish are fighting for space everywhere. Couple this with the channels that feed into the lagoons and you now have mantas and sharks by the dozen! A true divers paradise
Maps & Itinerary
This 7 night Palau Islands liveaboard adventure allows up to 22 dives and provides a mix of wrecks, reefs, drift and night dives. Reef sharks and manta rays can be seen in abundance and there are also many smaller creatures that warrant attention; stunning hard coral reefs, caves and caverns and the famous channel diving in this area are just a few of the highlights. Many of the channels have strong currents and reef hooks are an essential piece of diving equipment.
Departing from Koror, Palau Siren will usually visit a few of the dive sites around Malakal Harbour before cruising to Ulong Channel for some speedy drift dives, then south to Peleliu Island via Blue Corner and German Channel. The itinerary also includes diving at various locations around the Rock Islands, and the opportunity to visit Jellyfish Lake.
On a typical day we offer up to 4 dives; 3 day dives and, where possible, a sunset or night dive*. The diving day is scheduled as follows:
- Light Breakfast followed by a briefing and Dive 1
- Full Breakfast, relaxation period, briefing and Dive 2
- Lunch, relaxation period, briefing and Dive 3
- Snack relaxation period, briefing and Dive 4*
*Where land tours are offered, only 3 dives will be possible
*The dive sites and itinerary details outlined above are an example only and are subject to change depending on local regulations, guests’ experience, flight schedules, weather and logistics, at the Captain’s discretion. Adverse weather can affect the itinerary, which includes several overnight sailings, and the vessel’s ability to reach a specific location in good time.
Launched in April 2011, the 40m Palau Siren was built on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi and is handcrafted from ironwood and teak (traditional to the area). You will find no other diving liveaboard as beautiful in Palauan waters and, being built by divers for divers, you can be rest assured that every need has been thought of and addressed.
Welcoming a maximum of 16 guests on each trip ensures that there is ample space to relax before, during and after diving. The 8 stylish cabins provide a choice of double or twin bed configurations; 2 cabins are flexible twins which can be converted to doubles. All cabins offer individually controlled air- conditioning and ensuite bathrooms with hot water .
